Map process and package
The procedure to test your rules is split into several increments and allows to specifically verify certain aspects of the rules. To start out you need an adequate Process with at least one mapped XML alert file.
Prerequisite: in order to carry out meaningful tests you need to define such a Process first. For detailed instructions refer to the Process Manager section.
At first you need to map a process that has a data file attached to it. In principle, you pull a process with mapped files into the module and subsequently perform tests on Backend Rules and dynamic rules.

To do that, scroll down to the Rule VM section and click on + Process. In the following pop-up window all Processes with status new or approved are available for selection.

If you leave the Rule Verify module your mappings will be lost.
Now you are all set to
- inspect the package's record details,
- test Backend Rules,
- test dynamic rules (Rule Manager),
- perform a combined test or
- release the enriched file to the organization.
The ensuing chapters delve into more details.
