During the last step of the Rule Engine you finally get to test and verify your configured rules and make sure they perform the Attribution process in the way you envisioned them. If the rules defined by the modules Backend Rules and Rule Manager prove successful, you may publish the correctly attributed XML alert packages to the next status, during which they are then inspected by the people responsible for fixing them.

This rule testing and publishing module is called Rule Verify. You access it by clicking on the respective button in the left navigation bar.

Note: proper role authorization is required to view, edit or change any data within this module. In case you do not see the described module please approach your system administrator or authorization contact.

Overview of Rule Verify screen functions

The work area is subdivided into three sections:

  • Rule Table
  • Filter
  • Rule VM.

You may have already recognized that the Rule Table lists the rules you have defined in module Rule Manager. The fact that you will test these rules individually, makes it necessary to enumerate them here again. Here you cannot make any changes to them. Instead, you would have to call up the Rule Manager and execute your adaptions there. These changes would instantly be reflected here.

The filter will come into play later during rule testing and verification. You may select and save certain data points for your convenience.

The Rule VM practically selects XML alert packages from the File Manager and, thus, makes them available for testing.
